You are welcome to open a Pop-up shop.
Pop-up shops do not sell food, drinks (or marijuana).
Pop-up Shops must be on a mat on the ground, with no high tables or booths.
Please scroll down and read the rest of the important notes for Pop-up shop.
Please know that by law, only the sellers, shop owners with Thai staff or non-Thai staff with a valid work visa can sell things. There may be random police checks during the festival. If you don't have Thai staff or a work permit, we do not recommend setting up a shop on the main grounds. You may say something like, "I'm just hanging out near the shop" or "I'm just watching the shop for my “Thai friend” if the police come by and "mistakenly think" you are selling goods without a work visa.
The products you sell should be mainly handmade items.
Pop-up Shops must be on a mat on the ground, with no high tables or booths.
You must purchase general admission tickets for yourself and all your staff members for the days you/your staff sell or attend the festival.
Vending space is FIRST COME FIRST SERVE.
You can set up your shop with the materials you bring with you. Please do not cut the bamboo on the camping grounds.
You are allowed to vend in most areas except where there are signs that say 'No Shops'. Please be mindful of other vendors, tents, or spaces near you as to not cause any conflicts. ❤️
You must pack up your belongings properly after closing.
Leaving items unattended is not permitted, for the safety of your property and to allow other vendors to share the space.
You are not allowed to have your shop in the areas reserved for workshops.
Please do not sell or advertise any 'illegal' substances on the festival grounds.
Selling food, drinks (or cannabis) is prohibited in the Pop-up shop area.
There is no set fee to have a pop-up shop. Your donation to the Festival is very much appreciated. 🙏
Food vendors should arrive before Feb 4th and set up their shops.
Electricity is for the lights only. No electric cooking, heating or boiling water is allowed. We have minimal electricity.
Food vendors should NOT use or provide disposable plates, cups, etc.
Please bring reusable tableware and ask your customers to wash it at a washing station and then return it.
Shambhala, in collaboration with the Department of Waste Management, Chiang Mai University, aims to protect nature by ensuring all tableware, including plates, bowls, cups, spoons, forks, and straws, is 100% biodegradable or compostable.
The use of any plastic tableware, including plates, bowls, cups, spoons, forks, and straws, is strictly prohibited within the festival area.
All the water goes into the river. Please only use natural, organic soap or detergent. Let’s level up our awareness and love for Nature by showing our conscious choices and actions!
Local villagers and hill tribe people also come and set up their stalls. Support Thai-owned businesses and local community. ❤️
